Yarrow Elderflower Blueberry Lime Mocktail Recipe

After spending an afternoon with Jan and Henning, owners of the Yarrow Elderberry Farm, we were inspired to create a recipe using an elderflower cordial to create the Yarrow Elderflower Blueberry Cocktail. What better way to soak up what’s left of summer than enjoying a refreshing beverage by the lake.

The recipe uses elderflower cordial which, if in season, you can make at home using an elderflower cordial recipe. Elderflowers are in season in the spring and are open for u-pick from mid-May to June. You can also purchase premade elderflower cordial by Frostbite Syrups, that uses Jan and Henning’s Yarrow elderflowers, either online or from Nature’s Pickin’s in Abbotsford.

With the help of Sugar Salted, we created a recipe that uses local elderflower and blueberries found right here in the Fraser Valley for you to enjoy! If you’re looking for a cocktail, just add gin or vodka to this delicious, refreshing drink!

Instructions

1. Combine Frosbite Syrups’ Elderflower sureau cordial, lime juice and blueberries in a glass. Lightly mash them all together with a muddler, so that some blueberries break and release their juices.

2. Top with ice and lime slices, pour over mineral water or club soda until it reaches the edge of the glass. Add mint leaves, if desired. Serve.
