East Sector Trail

The eastern portion of Harrison Hot Springs is referred to by locals as the East Sector Lands or Lower Bear Mountain. It is an incredible area of more than 316 acres and is now officially the East Sector Lands Recreation Site. It has been an unofficial trail system for locals for many years with many unmarked trails. With its new designation the park has received some major upgrades. As the starting point Spirit Trail and Bridle Trail have been upgraded and joined providing a pleasant 1 to 5.5 kilometer trail depending on where you decide to turn around.

The diverse landscape consists of mixed coniferous and deciduous forested areas, wetlands and cliffs. This park is also an ecologically sensitive area that is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals, insects and plants, including several endangered species.

There are approximately 5.5 km of easy walking, flat trails that criss-cross through the park. The Spirit Trail Loop features numerous clay masks that were installed by a local artist to enhance the already mystical appeal of the trail. A wooden boardwalk connects the Spirit Loop Trail to the longer Bridle Trail.
New amenities include an information kiosk on McCoombs at the trail head, a pit toilet and picnic tables.
