Celebrate Pride in the Fraser Valley

Estimated Read Time: 2 min 4 sec

Summer has arrived in all its vibrant and sunny glory! Along with the uptick in temperature, you can expect to see a few extra rainbows on the horizon as we’ve officially kicked off the season of Pride! A celebration of equality, love, and each unique member of our 2SLGBTQAI+ community, Pride is all about embracing your most authentic self. The wonderful thing about Pride is that you can celebrate it no matter who you are; all are welcome!

That’s a philosophy we know well, as the Fraser Valley is a place where everyone can come, find nature, discover different cultures, and be a part of a community. So, with that in mind, we are ready to fly our brightest colours and get in on the fun! Here are the spots around the Valley where you can be a part of the rainbow no matter which shade speaks to you.

🌈 Pride Month is typically celebrated worldwide in June, but in BC, it’s often towards the end of July, so these events land between the two months. For more Pride events and other happenings in the Fraser Valley, be sure to check out our Events page.

Hope Pride Festival 2024

June 22

As sure as the pride flag will be hanging at their District Hall this month, Hope is ready to party! The local pride fest will be celebrating its 2nd year with live music, a showing of films with a queer focus, and an artisan vendor market. Held at the New Hope Cinema, you’re sure to stumble upon an interesting new filmmaker or rising musician.

It runs from 12 PM – 6 PM so there’s plenty of time to stop by, have a snack, and add a splash of colour to your day!

Fraser Valley Pride 2024

July 13

Last year, this annual event had a few thousand attendees joining in the spirit, and they’re hoping for even more in 2024! What began as a Fraser Valley Youth Society event in 2013 has since grown into a full-blown community party with food trucks, drag performances, live music, vendors and all manner of colourful outfits. You can join in the festivities at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission between 2 PM – 8 PM, so you can stay for an hour or stay for the day! It’s a family-friendly way to spend a Saturday with positive energy and wonderful people.

Chilliwack Pride Festival

July 21

Here’s another great family-friendly event that welcomes all members of the community! Taking place in downtown Chilliwack throughout the day, this community bash is expected to be bigger than ever before. Attendees will enjoy a fantastic lineup of local market vendors, area bands rocking their hearts out, and performances from area-famous drag queen, Hailey Adler. It’s shaping up to be an excellent way to take a break from screens and get your crew into the fresh air to celebrate!
