Join the Hope Mountain Centre for Outdoor Learning in celebrating BC Trails Day with the grand re-opening of the HBC (1849) Heritage Trail from Peers Creek to Manson’s Camp on Saturday, June 1, 2024. This event marks the completion of a significant restoration project following the catastrophic damage caused by an atmospheric river in 2021. The HBC trail team has tirelessly worked over the last three years to construct a new 3km section of trail, bypassing the irreparable sections and restoring the trail for enthusiasts to enjoy.

The celebration starts at 9:00 am at the Peers Creek trailhead near Hope, featuring special guest presenters, followed by self-guided hiking experiences with groups departing at staggered times beginning at 10 am. Participants can choose from various hiking paces and distances, ensuring a welcoming environment for all skill levels. Despite the wilderness setting and limited amenities, the event promises a day of adventure, community, and the great outdoors, underscoring the importance of being well-prepared and equipped for the trail.
